2021 Vallepicciola Grand Cru Toscano Rosso 750ml

Climatic trend
A fairly cool spring was followed by a hot and long summer, but with good temperature swings between day and night (minimum temperatures were always moderate in both July and August), allowing the grapes to complete the ripening process in an optimal manner. Also worthy of note is the absence of water stress thanks to the rains in June and September.
Harvest
Harvested by hand, selecting the best Sangiovese grapes from the Fontanelle vineyard between the second and third week of September.
Vinification
Alcoholic fermentation in cement at a controlled temperature of 22°C for 22 days, followed by 4 weeks of maceration. Malolactic fermentation in cement vats.
Ageing
Barriques 50% new for approximately 20 months.
Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red colour. On the nose it releases ripe cherry and redcurrant notes, chasing floral hints of violets with tobacco undertones. Elegant on the palate with a perfectly integrated tannic texture. Aftertaste with balsamic notes and very long finish.
